Agronomy is a mother branch of Agriculture.
Agronomy is dealing with science and technology of producing and using plants in agriculture for food, fuel, fiber, oilseeds, fodders, sugars, medicinal drugs, and land restoration.
Principles of Agronomy- Agronomy is planning, programmed, and exciting measures for maximum for utilization of land, labor, capital, sunlight, rainwater, temperature, humidity, transport, and marketing facility.
Importance of Agronomy- Providing farmers with information about how to grow and care for plant and soil in certain environments such as abiotic and biotic factors can pose significant challenges when farmers attempt to produce a plentiful harvest.
Objectives of Agronomy Department - To conduct research in crop rotation, irrigation and drainage, plant breeding, soil classification, soil fertility, weed control, and other areas. To have better food production and how to control disease and pest in order to promote zero hunger index.
Scope of Agronomy- Focus on yielding optimum food production through Field management. To exploit the integrated farming system and Rainfed as well as organic farming. To promote food based on organic oriented and save human beings from the consumption of toxic food. To collect the meteorological data for understanding monsoon, natural disasters and provide accurate knowledge of prediction to farmers and others.
